    Submit the application file

     

    • In order to speed up the admission process, the Admissions Commission will accept the scanned documents of the admission file via email.
    • All candidates accepted in the program are required to personally submit or send by courier the original documents for enrollment, no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of the classes.
    Interview & English test

     

    • Appointment – in order to schedule your admission interview and English test please make an appointment by email or by phone with the Admissions Office.
    • The interview is intended to assess the personality and the candidates’ potential to build a successful career in the hospitality business industry
    • The interview is held in English.
    • The English test will be taken on site (practice test).
    • If the candidate holds one of the language certificates listed below, they are not required to take the English test:

     

    1. TOEFL 79 IBT
    2. IELTS 6.5 Academic
    3. Cambridge Advanced – Grade C / 176
    Admission decision

     

    • The admission decision is received by email in 4-5 week days following the admission test taken.
    • Letter of Acceptance – Successful candidates will receive an official letter from American Hotel Academy stating they are admitted in the program, conditioned by completing the Application File until the end of the corresponding enrollment period.
    • Confirmation of Acceptance – Successful candidates will confirm their attendance by signing the study agreement and paying the first installment of the tuition fee.

    Transfer Applicants

    Being transferred to a new institution is a very important step that can create some discomfort due to the new environment, colleagues and academic policy. We do our best to create a welcoming environment that should make you feel comfortable enough to perform well in class.
    Prepare your transfer

     

    • Transfer requests are received no later than 15 days before the beginning of a new semester.Please take into consideration the transfer period and make sure that you have all the necessary documents in a timely manner.
    • You must have completed at least one semester of a diploma or degree program in Culinary Arts, Tourism, Hospitality or Service Management in a post-secondary culinary arts / hospitality management school or within a public or private university.
    • You can be a full time student or a long distance learner.

    Admission Interview Tips

    First impressions are very important, no matter the industry you work in. Taking care of your appearance is immediately associated with how you treat your job, so always try and leave a good, lasting impression. On that note, here are some tips to take into account for any interview:

    Personal Appearance Tips

    • Wear clothes in which you feel confident
    • Match your belt and shoe color
    • Remove body piercings and cover tattoos
    • Have fresh breath
    • Wear neutral hosiery with skirts
    • Smoke just before an interview
    • Wear revealing clothes
    • Wear excessive make-up
    • Wear too much jewelry (i.e. more than two items)
    • Chew gum or candy

    During the Interview

    • Give the interviewer a firm handshake
    • Be enthusiastic, confident, courteous and honest
    • Be aware of your non-verbal behavior
    • Listen to the questions carefully and give clear, concise answers
    • Thank the interviewer for his/her time
    • Address the interviewer by his first name unless invited to do so
    • Let the interviewer’s casual approach fool you – maintain a professional image
    • Dominate the interview or appear arrogant
    • Speak or act in a nervous manner
    • Interrupt when the interviewer is talking
