First year applicants. Application process for EU nationals

Step 1: Complete the Application File

✓ High school diploma – legalized (notarized) copy
✓ High school transcripts – legalized (notarized) copy
✓ Resume (CV) in English
✓ Medical Certificate
✓ 3 photos (passport size)
✓ Identity Card / passport – standard copy
✓ Birth Certificate – standard copy
✓ Registration fee receipt –  30 EUR in RON for Romanian nationals.
– 30 EUR for other European nationals.

Step 2: Submit the application file

In order to speed up the admission process, the Admissions Commission will accept the scanned documents of the admission file via email.
All candidates accepted in the program are required to personally submit or send by courier the original documents for enrollment, no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of the classes.

Step 3: Interview & English test:

Appointment: In order to schedule your admission interview end English test please make an appointment by email or phone with the Admissions Office.

The interview is intended to assess the personality and the candidates’ potential to build a successful career in the hospitality industry.
Romanian nationals: will take the interview in person at American Hotel Academy.
Other EU nationals: will take the interview via Skype (video call).

The English test can be taken at the headquarter of American Hotel Academy. A sample of the English test can be found here.
If the applicant owns one of the language certificates listed below, he / she is not required to take the English test:

TOEFL 79 IBT
IELTS 6.0 Academic
Cambridge Advanced – Grade B.

Step 4: Admission decision

a. The admission decision is received by e-mail in 4-5 week days following the admission test taken.
b. Letter of Acceptance. Successful candidates will receive an official letter from American Hotel Academy stating they are admitted in the program, conditioned by completing the Application File until the end of the corresponding enrollment period.
Confirmation of Acceptance. Successful candidates will confirm their attendance by signing the tuition agreement and paying the first installment of the tuition fee.

Important information for EU nationals, other than Romanian citizens:
As an EU national and an American Hotel Academy student, within your first 3 month stay, you are required to register your residence with the Brasov territorial unit of the General Inspectorate for Immigration. The registration certificate is issued in the same day and is valid for a period of up to 5 years.
