Unit Description
This unit focuses on a customer - oriented and practical approach for effectively marketing hotels and restaurants. It explores the "four Ps" (price, product, promotion and place) as they relate to specific market segments, providing students with a customer - focused perspective.

Unit learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit students will be able to
1.Understand and explain the differentiation between sales and marketing and how each impacts the hospitality industry
2.Apply different marketing techniques, to communicate the message effectively to the target market.
3.Analyse the connection between marketing planning and business planning and the benefits of developing a marketing plan.
