The first international school of hotel management from Romania was founded in 2007, in Brasov, under the name American Hospitality Academy (AHA) Romania and it was a member of the scools network entitled American Hospitality Academy - International Hotel Management Schools (AHA IHMS).
Considering this, AHA Romania offered professional training according to AHA IHMS philosophy and methods, appliable in every school of the network, to teach and certify middle level managers and line level personel.
During 2008, a first for Romania, 70 international students came to study hotel management in Brasov, at AHA Romania.
In 2009, AHA Romania enters an articulation agreement with Cesar Ritz Colleges from Switzerland and starts offering the first postgraduate programme in international hospitality management from Romania, with lecturers from three continents providing a modern teaching approach.
Also during 2009, AHA Romania was launching the first educational programme in Culinary Arts which was the first and the only of this sort in Romania, with a profound international specific doubled by original structure, teaching manner, certificates and career opportunities.
Starting of December 2009, our academy leaves AHA - IHMS network, changes its name and gains higher quality for its educational programmes by:
- affiliating to the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and implementing this famous institution's text books, methods and certificates;
- entering a partnership with the objective to deliver in in Brasov the first undergraduate programme Bachelor of Arts (Hons) International Hotel Business Management - subject to validation -with Manchester Metropolitan University and started an extensive validation process in which they gradually align all internal standards to those imposed by the partner institution in the UK.
February 2011 - American Hotel Academy signs an agreement with Manhattan Institute of Management (NYC, USA). This partnership will create and deliver postgraduate programmes in online marketing as well as in business administration, specially dedicated to the hospitality industry.
March 2011 - American Hotel Academy is becoming an accredited centre of Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality from UK, receiving credentials for two of its programmes: Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management.
