Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU)
MMU is one of the largest and most popular universities in the UK, with a history of over 180 years, and a current total of over 34,000 students.

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) - International Hotel Business Management - subject to validation – is offered in partnership between American Hotel Academy and MMU and will be taught entirely on the Brasov campus, and the graduates will receive the bachelor degree from MMU.
Due to this partnership, our institution is subject of a continous validation process devised by MMU, with the purpose to obtain and keep the highest standards in academic activity, according with the British higher education standards. American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI)
Starting with 1953, AH&LEI is considered to be the best source at global level for courses, training materials and certifications, customized on the needs shown by the hotel management schools and the hospitality industry itself.

The professional certificates coming from this Institute are considered the highest distinction of excelence in the hospitality industry. AH&LEI certifies and consolidates competences accordingly to both professional and academic environments, for over 35 positions in hospitality industry, starting with the lowest and finishing with the General Manager.

AH&LEI gives every basic resources for every educational program in American Hotel Academy.
By its affiliation to AH&LEI, our institution provides its students and trainees with all the courses, training materials and certificates.

The Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH)

CTH is one of the most important professional associations and awarding bodies from UK, dedicated to hospitality and tourism. It is under the Ofqual and QCA credentials.

CTH certificates are reckognised by higher education institutions as giving the same level studies with the university. Henceforth, those who posses the Diploma and Advanced Diploma may choose to follow directly the second or the final year of a Bachelor Degree in hospitality or tourism management. Also, those who posses Postgraduate Diploma may choose to enlist directly in the final semester of a Master Degree with several British and international universities.

CTH is strongly connected with the hospitality industry, working with and having the open support of organizations like Virgin Atlantic, GTMC, Star Alliance, Marriot Hotels Caribbean, Radisson Edwardian, Sheraton Hotels, Mantis Collection, Institute of Hospitality, Adair Leadership, The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health etc.

Starting with 2011, American Hotel Academy is a CTH centre with full credentials. This allows our students to access the educational programs and resources, as well as to be certified by CTH. Our students also can benefit from CTH connections with global hospitality operators.

The Manhattan Institute of Management (MIM)

MIM was created like a non-profit organization in 1984 by a group of entrepreneurs and executives with international preeminence. MIM is chasing educational innovation and is sustaining the integration in the traditional curricula for business administration of the newest practical business approach.  MIM is a private institution of higher education which endeavours to offer its students a high quality education in global business. MIM gives its students a real opportunity to understand what is the meaning of succes in business, in New York and throughout the world. In the last 26 years, over 5000 students stepped in the MIM's Wall Street campus.

MIM has its educational programs validated by the New York State Education Department.

Due to the partnership with MIM, American Hotel Academy's students can access the educational programs and the certificates of the American institution.

AMERICAN HOTEL ACADEMY has the credentials from the Romanian Commission for the Authorisation of Adult Professional Qualifications (Consiliul National de Formare Profesionala pentru Adulti) to offer education, professional training and certificates for the following:
  - Hotel Manager
  - Manager for Tourism Activities
  - Receptionist
  - Sales Agent in public food&drink units
  - Chef de cuisine
  - Housemaid

Undergraduate:

1. Advanced Diploma in Hotel Management - awarded by CTH
-  Ofqual si QCA credentials (government regulators in UK).
- CTH qualifications are widely recognised by British and international universities as offering equivalency to degree level study. The CTH Advanced Diploma holders gain direct entry to the final year of a BA or BSc in hospitality and/or tourism programmes. See the CTH website for more details.

2. Diploma Hotel Manager - awarded by American Hotel Academy
- credentials from the Tourism, Education and Labour Ministries of Romania, acknowledged in Romania and EU.
- according to Romanian legislation, this diploma holders are eligible to obtain the Tourism patent  for Hotel Manager, which legally allows them to operate a business organization like a hotel, motel, camping (for more than 100 rooms), or mountain cabin.

3. Bachelor of Arts (Hons) - International Hotel Business Management (subject to validation) -  awarded by MMU
- bachelor degree, accredited in the UK and internationally acknowledged.
- accepted to admission for Master level studies:
          - in EU, without other additional credits.
          - In the U.S., with additional credits, depending on admission requirements and degree of recognition of European degrees of each American university.

Manchester Metropolitan University is acknowledged in Romania as a valid UK institution. The Education Ministry of Romania (Ministerul Educatiei, Cercetarii, Tineretului si Sportului) through the National Centre of Certification Acknowledgement and Equivalency (Centrul National de Recunoastere si Echivalare a Diplomelor) acknowledges and equals the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) - International Hotel Business Management (subject to validation) as a Bachelor Degree obtained after graduating higher education studies.

4. Diploma in Hospitality Management - given by AH&LEI
- formal certificate of hotel managerial competences of the holder
- acknowledged and accepted globally by the industry operators, regarded as a certificate for very good training in middle level management.

Postgraduate:

1. Postgraduate Diploma Manager for Tourism Activities - awarded by American Hotel Academy
- certificate accredited by the Tourism, Labour and Education Ministries of Romania (MT, MMFPS si MECI*), valid in Romania and EU.
- the holders of this diploma are eligible to obtain the Tourism patent for Manager for Tourism Activities, which legally allows them to operate as managers any business structure similar with the following:
     • Travel Agency
     • Hotel, Motel, Camping ( for more than 100 rooms), mountain cabin
     • Restaurant ( of 3,4,5 stars, for more than 50 table seats).

2. Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management - awarded by CTH
-  Ofqual and QCA credentials (government regulators in UK).
- CTH qualifications are widely recognised by British and international universities as offering equivalency to degree level study. The CTH Postgraduate Diploma holders gain direct entry to the final stage of a MA or MSc. See the CTH website for more details.

3. Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma - awarded by MIM
- postuniversity certificates acknowledged by New York Education Department.
- acknowledged by the American and European universitary systems as equivalent to Master level studies; therefore, the holders can be admitted directly in the final phase of a Master Degree of MIM or any other US or European university.

4. Master of Science in International Tourism & Hospitality Management - given by BPP University College

Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) Validation
As a Collaborative Partner of MMU,  American Hotel Academy started in December 2009 an extensive validation process to be able to offer this degree programme on its own campus.

This is an ongoing process that takes place as long as the American Hotel Academy has the status of an active partner. Its purpose is to ensure a high standard of academic activity in our institution. The standards are periodically evaluated on the basis of some general levels previously set by UK higher education institutions.

The first step of the validation process, which started in December 2009, comprises the intermediate stages:

·      primary institutional evaluation

·      alignment of curricula and academic procedures with those of MMU

·      alignment of quality management's procedures at the level required by MMU

·      alignment of school's facilities and those supporting our students to the MMU's standards.

This first phase is scheduled to end in December 2011 - January 2012 with official visits of an external validation commitee of experts from both academia and hospitality industry.

The process will imply future verifications and tight collaboration with MMU regarding academics, but administration also, to maintain the set standards.

Accreditation with American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AH&LEI)
As an affiliated centre of AH&LEI, American Hotel Academy is found in a continous evaluation process meant to ensure the standards asked by the American institution.
