Undergraduate Internships

The undergraduate programmes combine classroom study and practice in the school laboratories with two internships in the industry:

- Internship I (optional): 14 weeks during the summer between Year I and Year II.
- Internship II: 48-52 weeks between Year II and Year III.

Internships are full time periods spent working in the hospitality industry. The practice is a key element of the study programme, allowing students to understand the real working environment and apply concepts learned in school.

The internship is for most of the undergraduate students their first work experience. Daily requirements of such an experience for them is both a challenge and an inspiration, and part of the learning curve, which is absolutely necessary to go through to succeed in the chosen career.

Placement in industry give students a better understanding of the nature of the profession which they have chosen, and strengthens understanding of the courses taken before or after the internship. Thus, this strategy of combining study and practice help students develop a solid long-term career.
