This December, our new partner representative, Mr. Omar Naimi, General Manager, InterContinental Hotel Hotels & Resorts (one hour away from Chicago), came to recruit 2nd-year students from American Hotel Academy.

Representing one of the most luxurious hotel chains in USA, Marcus Corporation, Mr. Naimi confessed that he also started as a student that went in an internship and his first job was as a dishwasher!

He advanced in the hotel hierarchy, making small steps during 8 years and he was rotated in various places like Caracas, Singapore or Malaysia.

Mr. Naimi, mentioned Pfister Hotel, among Marcus Hotels & Resorts, as an icon, luxury historic hotel in North America. “Grand Hotel of the West,” as it was initially named, it was built in 1893 with a huge amount of money invested for that time (5 million dollars) and was recently renovated.

It has the largest Victorian art collection among all hotels in the world and its main purpose was to host the most luxurious meeting place, galas and weddings. Pfister Hotel seems to be among the favorite accommodation and meeting place for presidents and VIPs.

Marcus Corporation is a family business and includes in its portfolio 22 mixed hotels: independent and in franchises from Marriott, Hilton, and Intercontinental Group. Students’ privileges are multiple, among which there are the cultural exchange program and the special passport program – which allow them to go through the experiences needed to become a hotel manager. And also the great opportunity to work in one of the the preferred places of the VIPs, as their awards are stating (2017 Conde’ Naste Traveler award, Meetings & Conventions’ Gold Key Award Winner in 2016 or Successful Meetings Award).

Thank you ITN and Marcus Group Hotels and Resorts for a successful recruitment fair!
