About this course

The unit introduces students to the process of academic research. Selection of supportive academic literature and review to determine the gap in knowledge related to their selected topic. Qualitative, quantitative or mixed method approaches to data collection will be outlined. Students will be able to explain the concept of academic research versus other forms of research. The course will allow students to select academic reading material, summarizing, quoting and referencing. Moreover, the course will present the correct preparation of a bibliography and will teach students how to select an appropriate research design, research method data collection method, and respondents to support a selected topic while considering research ethics.
