The BSc (Hons) International Hospitality and Tourism Management integrates technology seamlessly into the curriculum, ensuring that our graduates are not just familiar with the latest tools but are innovators in leveraging technology to enhance guest experiences, optimize operations, and drive sustainable practices.
Authentic Assessments, No Exams
Unlike most traditional degree courses, you don’t need to sit any exams, and you won’t need to spend the summer at home writing a dissertation either. Your assessments have been designed to help you apply your learning to real-word scenarios. This means you’ll be better prepared to apply the skills you’ve gained on the course to your professional role after graduation.
As you work through your course modules, you’ll have the chance to complete a range of useful assessment methods such as individual reports, case study analyses, presentations, business and destination development plans and personal independent assignments designed in consultation with your course module leader. Your assessments will have an emphasis upon personal discovery, digital technology, the application of theory to real-world hospitality and tourism scenarios, and management practice and innovative thinking.

You’ll study in 10-week blocks, focusing on two modules simultaneously. Each week includes classroom sessions, independent study, and hands-on projects, allowing you to apply what you learn in real-world scenarios, from industry simulations to career-focused activities.
Beyond learning, you’ll be part of a vibrant student community by collaborating on group projects, connecting with peers, attending events, and building networks that will support your career. Our tutors are there every step of the way, ensuring you feel guided, supported, and ready to succeed.
This flexible approach allows you to balance your studies with part-time or full-time work, personal commitments, and life, all while preparing for a rewarding global career. With us, you’re not just earning a degree – you’re shaping your future.

Work-Based Learning Integration
Work-Based Learning (WBL) is a core element of the BSc (Hons) International Hospitality & Tourism Management programme, blending theory with hands-on experience to boost employability. Embedded throughout all three years, WBL includes experiential learning, career development, and structured work placements.
F&B Laboratory
The Food & Beverage Laboratory is hosted in the faculty’s own restaurant, equipped with state-of-the-art tools and all necessary raw materials for practical learning. Here, students gain hands-on experience in organizing and managing food and beverage services, mastering serving techniques, table arrangements, and bartending skills.
Activities include working with a wide range of products – from wines and spirits to cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages – while emphasizing proper drink and food pairing. This approach develops essential competencies for a successful career in hospitality.
Gastronomy Laboratory
Sessions in the Gastronomy Laboratory take place in a fully equipped kitchen designed for culinary arts training. Students learn the principles of modern gastronomy, menu creation, and presentation techniques, while exploring the characteristics of various international cuisines.
Under the guidance of internationally renowned chefs, students refine their creativity, precision, and aesthetic sense—key elements in hospitality. This practical experience helps them understand not only the art of cooking but also the role of gastronomy in cultural identity and tourism.
Opera Laboratory
The Opera Laboratory simulates operational processes specific to the hotel industry, allowing students to practice reception, reservation management, and customer relations.
Using Oracle’s Opera software – one of the most widely adopted hotel management platforms – students become familiar with real-world processes such as check-in, check-out, rate administration, room management, and performance analysis. This training builds technical and organizational skills essential for hospitality careers.
HOTS Laboratory (Hospitality Operations Strategies)
The HOTS Laboratory employs an internationally recognized hotel management simulator, offering students a unique opportunity to understand hotel operations. Through this advanced system, they experience the decision-making process of a general manager, coordinating activities across all key departments: reception, accommodation, F&B, marketing, sales, finance, and HR.
Simulations and case studies develop strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to make quick, effective decisions in a competitive environment – preparing students for leadership roles in hospitality.
Field Trips
Field trips involve study visits to accommodation facilities of various classifications and sizes, enabling students to observe and understand operational practices firsthand.
By comparing different types of establishments – from luxury hotels to guesthouses and international chains – students gain insight into organizational and service differences. This experience fosters an applied perspective on the hotel industry and equips them to adapt management strategies to real market conditions.
Guest Speakers
The program includes sessions with guest speakers – industry professionals and specialists who share authentic experiences and best practices.
These interactions expose students to real challenges and current trends, ensuring the curriculum remains aligned with industry developments. Guest speaker sessions provide valuable insights, helping students understand market dynamics and build the skills needed for successful careers in tourism and hospitality.

Industry Placements
All internships take place at four and five star ranked properties. The first internship takes place within a pre-set training location belonging to Atlantica Hotels & Resorts, while the second internship takes place in Europe either with a Host Company which is a school partner or with one which is chosen independently by the student. For the third internship we offer 12-month placements in the USA.
The first internship is part of the academic curriculum, carries credit value, and is mandatory for all students. The second and third internships are optional – but highly recommended – as they are designed to help with the transition from student to professional and offer the opportunity to offset course-related expenses.
Internships & Employment in 2026
The first internship is designed so that all students can get hands-on customer service experience in Food & Beverage or Front Office operations. Students will be exposed to real-life work environments in rotational positions throughout different outlets of the property they are placed with.
This internship is about structure and about learning how to do things the right way. It is hard but rewarding work which will lay a solid professional foundation and pave the way for students’ second internship and future careers.

Through our exclusive partnership with Wavemaker Hospitality, first-year students gain direct access to real-world training at leading hotels across the Mediterranean. With a legacy of over 45 years, Wavemaker operates more than 50 properties and hosts over 500,000 guests each season. Its portfolio includes prestigious brands such as Atlantica Hotels & Resorts, Mare Resorts, Aphrodite Hills Resort, and the newly launched APHI and AMOH Luxury Collection. This collaboration ensures our students learn in dynamic, high-performing environments that foster growth, excellence, and innovation. Here are the main features of this experience:
The duration of the internship is four – five months and the offered compensation is 865 – 950 €/month in rotational positions in the Food & Beverage or Front Office departments. These are the properties:
Internship 2 builds on the experience gained during Internship 1. The main objective is to deepen the knowledge gained so far by either continuing your career at the same host company or by exploring a new one in a different country with a different specific. Choose your next career move based on the long-term career goals that you have set already at this point in your education.
Internship 2 takes place either:
- within four- and five-star ranked properties selected by the school or secured independently by the student. The positions available are in operational roles in Food & Beverage and Front Office, as well as administrative or back-office roles (Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Events, Finance, Supply & Logistics), or
- within host companies in related sectors like Events & Entertainment, Retail & Luxury, Aviation, Cruise Lines, Wellness & Spa, or Sports; for students wishing to explore adjacent career paths.
The second internship duration is four-five months between Level 5 and Level 6 (May-September). The school provides tutoring and monitoring as well as the pre-departure orientation.
Compensation from host companies in Europe includes a stipend between EUR 500 – 2,100/month (varies from one country to another), accommodation, and one-three meals per day. See Fees & Earnings section below for more country information and check with the Career Department for specifics about each host company.
The American experience is what YOU make of it. For no other place on earth is the saying ‘you are the master of your own destiny’ truer. Go there with an open mind and with an open heart and you will achieve great things. This country is certainly the best place for this.
This internship is offered in exclusive partnership with Odyssey International Group, the largest internship and trainee J1 visa sponsor organization in the U.S.
Internship 3 builds on the experience gained during Internships 1 and 2. This time, the American Track students will deepen the knowledge gained so far by immersing themselves in hands-on training in the hospitality industry in a unique country like the United States.
Internship 3 takes place at four- and five-star ranked properties, selected by the school and visa sponsor organization. The positions available are in operational roles in Food & Beverage and Front Office. School and visa sponsor also provide support and monitoring before departure, as well as during the whole stay in the U.S.
This internship’s placement process allows for a great deal of flexibility. We keep in mind, as much as possible, each student’s particular context and preferences when looking for a suitable host company. Group placements are also possible, as we know they are important for many of our students. Odyssey International’s philosophy is to “develop sustainable but flexible recruitment and sponsorship systems based on our conviction that one program does not fit all.”
The internship duration is 12 months. Compensation from host companies includes a stipend that usually starts at $2,400/m and goes as high as $4,000/m, with benefits such as accommodation and meals on duty included as per each company’s policy. See the Fees & Earnings section below for more country information and check with the Career Department for specifics about each host company.
Upon successful completion of this internship, students can return for an Advanced Training or Management Trainee Program of an additional 12 months (usually within the same host company). For more information, please contact a Career Department representative.
Optional Employment is an additional service AHA provides to all graduates and it mainly entails customized job searching within our vast global network of employers.
Start dates are available throughout the year, and students can usually choose between regular full-time employment or management trainee programs. Destinations available include Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and even Australia.
For more information on how you can benefit from this service, please contact a Career Department representative.
