The experience and expertise delivering as part of a team on the International Hospitality Business Management programme at Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, along with the invitation to deliver a specialized block on Hospitality Facilities Management and Design (HFMD) at the American Hotel Academy (AHA) in Romania, have been instrumental in shaping the educational experiences of future hospitality professionals.

The focus on imparting specialist knowledge in commercial interior design for hospitality and leisure facilities is crucial in preparing students for the dynamic and multifaceted world of hospitality management. The inclusion of topics such as design communication procedures, building regulations, planning application guidelines, inclusive design, and hotel quality grading demonstrates a comprehensive approach to education that goes beyond theoretical concepts and equips students with practical skills.

Moreover, the integration of creative knowledge related to design function and operations, including aspects like lighting, colour, ergonomics, and material finishes, showcases a commitment to providing a holistic understanding of the field. The emphasis on stakeholder affiliation, involving consumers, designers, planning officers, and builders, reflects the real-world collaborative nature of hospitality commercial interior design projects.

It is by dedication to ensure sound design decision-making as a best practice approach for future hospitality managers. It not only prepares students for the challenges of the industry but also contributes to raising the overall standards in hospitality facilities management and design.

The global perspective gained through the collaboration with the American Hotel Academy in Romania adds an enriching dimension to my teaching portfolio. Overall, the extensive experience and commitment to delivering a high-quality educational experience in hospitality management contribute significantly to the development of the next generation of industry leaders.
