    Become more familiar with the hospitality industry and gain access to our brief introduction into the fundamentals of tourism & hospitality management.

    Our Bridging Programme is the only one in Romania that can help candidates without an academic hospitality background achieve BA level knowledge in an online environment, so that they can pursue a MSc degree.

    Who is the Bridging Progamme for?

    This program grants you the most relevant knowledge needed to get to a level where pursuing a Master’s degree will be within reach. Our Bridging Programme is the right step for you if:

    You have limited or no professional experience in the hospitality industry.

    You want to achieve the knowledge needed to gain access to our MSc programme and ultimately to higher job positions.

    Your current degree is in a different area than hospitality.

    You don't have time to undertake a 3-year undergraduate hospitality programme.

    Admission requirements

    Based on our two separate modules, we have the following requirements:

    For the hospitality module:

    Undergraduate degree in any field (other than hospitality or tourism) and less than 1 year working experience in the hospitality or tourism industry.

    For the business module:

    Undergraduate degree in any field (other than business or hospitality or tourism related) and less than 1 year of managerial or business experience.

    Structure

    The programme has two main modules, Hospitality Operations and Business. Based on the decision of the Admission Committee, a candidate can attend one or both modules, with the following outcomes:
    • Hotel Front Office Operations – Understand the function of a front office department, the roles and skills required and how to carry out front office procedures during the guest cycle;
    • Managing Services in Food and Beverage Operations – Understand the food and beverage industry, the roles and responsibilities required, increasing sales, purchasing and stock control;
    • Supervision in the Hospitality Industry Understand and apply processes related to Human Resources Management such as recruitment, selection, motivation and evaluation. Understand the interaction between supervisors and social media, the use of technology in recruitment, the benefits of a diverse workforce, and time management in the digital age.
    • Supervision in the Hospitality Industry Understand and apply processes related to Human Resources Management such as recruitment, selection, motivation and evaluation. Understand the interaction between supervisors and social media, the use of technology in recruitment, the benefits of a diverse workforce, and time management in the digital age;
    • Hospitality Sales & Marketing – Demonstrate an understanding of the key concepts, models and frameworks available to assess the marketing environment and develop marketing & sales strategies and plans;
    • Hotel and Restaurant Accounting – Understand and apply the sources of funding and income generation used, as well as the concept of costing, with particular emphasis on marginal costing and financial ratios.

    Each unit takes 40 hours to complete.

    The recommended duration for each module is 3 months, with an average of 10 hours / week of study.

    → If by any chance you have to cover both modules, the units that overlap will be taken only once.

    → For each module, support will be offered without any time limit, both online and onsite.

    Re-assessment: If a student fails to pass the final examination, he may retake it once at no charge. He may retake it a second time for $35.

    Here are other important aspects related to our Bridging Programme:

    AHLEI Courses

    The bridging courses are offered in partnership with American Hotel & Lodging Educational Insitutue (AHLEI), which offers the most comprehensive trainings, course materials and certifications for the hospitality industry worldwide.

    AHLEI Certificates

    At the end of each course, the participant will have to pass a multiple choice exam and obtain an AHLEI certificate. The certificates issued by AHLEI are recognized and accepted worldwide. American Hotel Academy is the only one offering such certificates in Romania.

    Easy Access & Learning

    The course is available online for 6 months from the time of first access, on an interactive platform, facilitating learning through the possibility of taking notes, of highlighting information and quick finding of definitions, of listening to it.

    Mobile Friendly

    The course is mobile friendly and can be accessed from AHLEI app as well.

    Support & Guidance

    The bridging student will benefit from online support of experienced lecturers on American Hotel Academy's online platform – eCampus and ongoing guidance from the MSc Programme Coordinator.
