Professionally she has worked in various sectors within the hospitality industry, including hotels, restaurants, bars, and theme parks in Japan, Switzerland, and the UK. Although she has changed her career path to teaching, she still has a passion for hospitality and updated her knowledge through research and being a customer. Her expertise lies in the areas of managing cultural diversity and service quality in the hospitality industry. Due to her international background, she has a keen interest in cultural diversity within the educational as well as hospitality industry context. Another area of interest in more recent years is the skills shortage issues within the hospitality industry and how educational institutions can make contributions to improve the situation by providing online learning opportunities.
