Industry Placements
Customized placements: our Career team uses all our resources to identify the most suitable placements for each student given the workforce market demand and each student’s wants, needs, skills and abilities.
Although internships are not a degree requirement for this programme, they are highly recommended as they are all designed to assist with the student-to-professional transition.
Locations: we currently offer practical training opportunities in Europe, United States, Asia or remote.
Industries: we currently work with host companies in different sectors like Hospitality & Events, Sports & Wellness, Digital Media & Advertising, Luxury Services, Retail.
Training Departments: Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, Finance.
Upon availability, students are encouraged to choose the industry and training department as per their desired career pathway.
Internship Structure
For Year 1 students school starts with career preparation and assigned courses. Students can also get involved in various projects, activities, and practical training sessions with different companies.
The first placement is designed for students as their first job and work experience. Main objectives include practical training, understanding how a real work environment works, personal and professional exploration, travel and gaining both independence and relevant work experience.
Our career team will identify a personalized internship or trainee program in Romania and/or Europe, based on the candidate’s eligibility and preferences. The positions are in back office and administrative roles such as marketing, sales, accounting, IT, purchasing, etc. Companies where placements take place range in a variety of types, starting form hotels and resorts, to big corporations or small businesses.
Duration: 5 months summer placements or other periods, depending on the chosen company and position.
Opportunities include:
– Summer/Seasonal internships (back office positions)
– Volunteering opportunities (music festivals, sports events, etc.)
– Access to online job search & career platforms
Financial compensation ranges from €300 – 700 / month.
The second placement represents a continuation of the job and work experience or the exploration of a different role. Main objectives include deepening the knowledge gained so far and the immersion in work, by either continuing your career at the same host company or by changing your options to explore different areas.
Our career team will identify a personalized internship or trainee program in Romania, Europe or Asia, based on the candidate’s eligibility and preferences. The positions are in back office and administrative roles such as marketing, sales, accounting, IT, purchasing, assistant manager, etc.
Duration: 5 months summer placements which can be extended to 6, 8, 12 months placements, depending on the chosen company and position.
Opportunities include:
– Summer/Seasonal internships (back office positions)
– Project based jobs
– Access to online job search & career platforms
Stipends usually range from €300 – 1,500 / month.
As a final year student you can apply for a one-year internship in the USA.
J-1 Business Programs in the USA
Objective: Internship programs are designed to allow foreign college and university students or graduates to come to the United States to gain exposure to U.S. culture and to receive hands-on experience in U.S. business practices in their chosen occupational field. The program bridges the gap between formal education and practical work experience.
Training areas we are focusing on: HR, Finance & Accounting, General Management Assistant/Business Development, Marketing. Our team will identify a personalized J-1 internship or trainee program in the United States based on the candidate’s eligibility and preferences.
Stipends range from $15 – 20/hour.
Note: Only current students can apply for placements. Placements are optional and students can apply anytime during their third year of studies. Regardless of the application time, placements will be offered according to the students’ previous work experience (minimum 6 months), knowledge, skills and attitude.

A discount of 250€ to the tuition fee will be granted to the American Hotel Academy student who refers our academy to their friends/ family/ colleagues.
1. The discount is only received by the student who refers, not the one who is referred.

Entry Requirements

Academic
High – School Diploma. The admission process can start before graduating from high – school, but the candidates must have graduated before the commencement of classes with AHA.

English Level
We accept the following English language skills certificates:
- TOEFL (minimum 80 points)
- or IELTS (minimum Level 6)
- or Duolingo English Test (minimum 95 points)
- or Cambridge Certificate (minimum Grade B)
Candidates with a lower level of English will be required to attend our ESL program. If English is your native language, or you have graduated from an English-speaking school or university then you do not need to prove your English language proficiency.
Proof must not be older than five years.

Minimum Age
Students need to be at least 18 years old. The admission process can start before the age of 18, but the candidate must have turned 18 before the commencement of classes.
